Whether it’s a virtual visit to the doctor from the comfort of your home, a sensor that continuously monitors your blood pressure and blood sugar concentration, or a form of artificial intelligence that compiles and helps us make sense of the data, these technologies hold promise for the future of human health care. “There’s no reason why we can’t deliver better care for lower cost. The vast majority of the cost in health care gets spent on a very small number of people…The idea of technology is that you can do this stuff at scale- so you can give these things to everybody,” says Holt.
