Dr. Martin Giera is an associate professor at Leiden University researching clinical metabolomics, the study of metabolites and how they take part in biochemical processes.

Dr. Giera discusses a range of topics, including the role of the microbiome in metabolism, the Warburg effect, how the metabolic differences between different types of cancers indicate the need for personalized therapy for cancer, and what’s on the horizon for him and his team in the coming months.
